Why I built DIY Conveyancing
Before DIY Conveyancing, I founded ID5.co.uk, an online identity-verification service that has helped thousands of customers with their HM Land Registry ID checks. I noticed that more and more people were doing their own conveyancing for straightforward transactions, such as transfers of equity between family members and spouses.
Finding the right forms, understanding unfamiliar questions and working out what to send to Land Registry can take hours. The guidance is often technical and full of unfamiliar terminology, leaving people to piece together information from several Land Registry practice guides.
I wanted to make that process easier and more affordable. DIY Conveyancing brings the forms and instructions together in a pack prepared from your answers to a straightforward online questionnaire. Your forms are available for immediate download, so you can concentrate on checking, signing and submitting your application.
How your pack is prepared
I wrote the rules the system follows and the guidance it provides. Your answers determine the forms, wording and instructions included in your pack.
For a registered transfer, that includes the TR1 transfer deed, AP1 application form and relevant identity forms, together with guidance explaining who signs, who witnesses and how to submit the application.
Your pack is generated automatically and is not individually reviewed by me. This is what allows us to offer the digital pack for £69. Land Registry fees, identity checks and any tax payable are separate.
